A family whose lineage can be traced to Suryavashi Rajputs, and even further back to Lord Rama himself, the mythical hero of Hindu epic Ramayana sacred texts. Mertiya Haveli is established and owned by the respected Mertiya Rathore family, who are going to be delighted to welcome you personally, make your trip an unforgettable experience, and prove to you that Indian hosts are the most welcoming, helpful, and kindest in the world.
History of Mertiya - Rathore's :
Rathore's belong to the Suryavanshi Rajput clan, its lineage can be traced back to Lord Rama himself, the mythical hero of Hindu epic Ramayana sacred texts, and from him to the sun god “Surya”, which explains why Rathore's call themselves Suryavanshi, or family of the sun. Rathore's are the nobles and the royalty from the west Rajasthan, whose area of reign and influence spread from the Marwar(Jodhpur) region, Barmer, Churu, Bikaner. They had kingdoms in Rajasthan, Jodhpur (Marwar) and Bikaner (Jangladesh), Nagaur. Rathore's have many gotras (caste), but most members belong to the great warriors of the past, and gotras (casts) are inherited by their family members. Some of these gotras (caste) are Mertiya, Jodha, Bidawat, Banirot, Champawat, and so forth
